But I Can't Knit!!!

I remember as a young girl watching my tiny grandma ferociously attack yarns of wool until they became vast blankets with intricate designs with nothing more than her arthritic fingers and a hook or a set of needles.
She tried on many occasions to teach me the ways of the yarncrafter using knitting needles and crochet hooks, but to no avail, I always ended up with a ball of knots in my hand and a confused expression on my face...
I resolved myself to the fact that I was one of those people who was destined to buy knitwear that other people created.
During the pandemic, between not making sourdough bread and not being very good at facilitating remote learning for two 9 year old boys, I decided to pick up the sticks and strings again and I decided to learn how to knit. Not the large complicated designs that my grandma would turn out while watching her Cary Grant movies without barely a glance at her hands, but the simple stuff that I could say that I made.
I discovered YouTube tutorials on everything from casting on to different stitches and away I went. Before I knew it, everyone in the house had a beanie and the JackChi had a blanket that was supposed to be a scarf (I made it too wide and ran out of wool).
I can imagine my grandma up there with a smug smile on her face now that her most uncoordinated granddaughter can now knit.
